Japanese Geisha Is a Very Popular Oriental Figurine

Probably the single most popular Oriental figurine for sale is the Japanese Geisha.  Sometimes it is also called the Japanese kimono doll.  In consideration of the near feverish appeal of the Geisha doll, it is not hard to understand why so many people desire to have it in their Oriental collection.  If you have read Arthur Golden's novel "Memoirs of a Geisha," you know something about the history of the women this figurine represents.  The world of the Geisha continues to fascinate people from all over the world even today!

The Advantage of Buying from An Importer

It is a fact that most US-based retailers get their oriental figurines and collectibles from Oriental manufacturers overseas.  I suppose this is inevitable because the best stuff always comes from Asian craftsmen.  I have found it is always good to check out the details on imported items.  Buying from an importer here still seems like the safest and easiest way to get the best product.  Paying a little extra makes it worth it, unless you know exactly who you are dealing with overseas.

Quality Workmanship In Oriental Figurines Overseas

It is impressive how quality workmanship in the production of Oriental figurines overseas has become a "family tradition."  I am referring to the Figurines Street of Shiwan.  The two craftsmen who create Oriental figurines here are Master Lin Wei Dung and Master Lin Wei Ho.  These two are brothers.  They have received almost no competition because no other artists are able to match their particular level of detail in fashioning beautiful Oriental figurines.  What a skill to possess!

The Meaning of Quality Asian Collectibles

One way to gauge what "quality" means in the Asian collectibles market is to investigate the producers of these items overseas.  An example of such might be the Chinese Figurines of Shiwan.  Shiwan has been called "the Ceramic Capital in China."  Shiwan is an old town in the southern part of Guangdong province.  Its reputation for beautiful and elegant ceramic figurines has been famous for hundreds of years.  The traditional ceramic skills and techniques have been passed down through many generations of skilled craftsmen.

Vintage Oriental Figurines at a Fair Price

China is quickly becoming a major center for Chinese art and anitques.  New collectors, as well as auction houses around the world, appear every day selling Chinese art.  This suggests a new trend for every thing Asian since China is the leading economic power of Asia these days.  So the questions becomes how a person can get quality, vintage Oriental collectibles at a fair price now?  You can visit your local Chinatown shops in your area, or try to find a local collector of Oriental figurines.  You can also go on-line for shopping options.

Asian Collectibles- A Dynamic New Trend In the West

When I first decided to get into the business of Asian collectibles, I was only a little aware of how much Asian art is becoming a new trend in contemporary home/office fashion.  However, the more time that has passed the more I see how little I still understand!  Asian collectibles, as well as home decor, are becoming more in demand every year.  An initial estimate I have heard is that this specific industry (relating to Oriental figurines) is a $354 million annual business in the United States alone.
